Three demand drivers, one production technology
Global aluminum composite panel market (2024), growing 5–7% a year. Asia-Pacific accounts for about 40%.
Grand View · GMI · PrecedenceNew box-truck registrations in Korea (2023, +21.3%). US trailer production is expected to bottom in 2026 and recover to about 300,000 units by 2028.
Commercial Vehicle News · ACT ResearchConstruction noise complaints in Korea (2023), against 8,166 in Japan — the gap reflects panel-type noise hoarding and performance certification standards.
Korea Ministry of Environment · Japan Ministry of the EnvironmentKey findings
- Only 10 companies in Korea hold KS F 4737 (aluminum composite panel) certification, and Taejin ACP is one of them (KS certification bodies' council database, checked 2026.09).
- In Korea, exterior walls of buildings with 3+ stories or 9 m+ must use noncombustible or quasi-noncombustible materials, and since 2021 the rule has covered the core as well → demand has shifted from PE cores to FR and quasi-noncombustible products.
- Since 2024, new small parcel-delivery trucks can no longer be registered with diesel engines. As 1-ton electric trucks spread, a lighter cargo body translates directly into range.
- The largest US trailer maker is Korean-owned Hyundai Translead, and composites' share of new trailer panels is forecast to rise from 18% (2025) to 28% (2035).
- Japan requires certified soundproof panels to deliver transmission loss of 18/23 dB plus flame retardancy, and aluminum composite soundproof panels are already commercialized. Korea has no performance standard for the panels themselves.
- Taejin ACP already exports soundproof hoarding panels to Japan. The opportunity is to bring a product proven in Japan's demanding market to Korea, where no such standard exists yet.
Building cladding — aluminum composite panels (ACP)
A lightweight, flat and easily fabricated cladding material. After major fires, markets around the world are moving to FR (fire-retardant) and A2 (noncombustible) cores.

Korea — a quasi-noncombustible market created by regulation
- Korean market size: no statistic covers ACP alone. The closest figure is GVR's Korean aluminum composite materials market, $128.7M (2024) → $243.7M (2033), CAGR 7.6%, with construction at 74.7% (ACM is a narrower scope).
- Downstream demand: 2026 construction orders of KRW 240.8 trillion (+8.9%, CERIK revised outlook, 2026.06), led by semiconductor, battery and data-center plants
Japan · Southeast Asia
- Japan: $452.9M (2025) → $658.8M (2033), CAGR 4.9% (GVR). A mature market where ALPOLIC is strong. Taejin ACP has already entered it through hoarding applications.
- Southeast Asia: country-level ACP statistics are not public. Vietnam construction +7.1% (2026), Indonesia's construction market $329B → $437B (2031), Southeast Asian data-center construction CAGR 17.8%. Vietnam has tightened its fire code (QCVN 06:2022).
Risks
- Aluminum prices: LME +17.4% in 2025, about $3,750/t in 2026.6 (the highest since 2022), about $3,235/t in 2026.9
- Low-cost Chinese imports · regulations phasing out PE cores (total UK ban, 2022.12) · rising testing and certification costs
Truck body and trailer panels
Taejin ACP's current core business: rear-door panels for Korean box trucks, and wall, roll-up and swing-door panels for US trailers.

Growth drivers
- E-commerce and parcel growth, cold chain (Korean cold-chain logistics $6.2B → $17.0B by 2034, IMARC)
- From January 2024, new diesel registrations are banned for small parcel-delivery trucks → shift to LPG and electric
- 1-ton electric trucks: battery weight costs payload and range → demand for lighter cargo bodies
- Lightweighting effect: cutting vehicle weight by 10% improves fuel economy by 6–8% (U.S. DOE)
